Witches Are My Bitches

YES…it’s true…witches are my bitches AND I’m officially claiming my new title as a GREEN WITCH.

During the week of summer solstice, I was in my kitchen brewing up rainbow magic as my final presentation in order to graduate from a year long herbalism school.  I sat mixing plants, crystals, and blessing herbs into oils to create 7  healing chakra oils.  As I called in the spirits of the plants and all the elements (Water, Earth, Air and Fire)  and directions (North, South, East and West) I thought to myself…shit this is so witchy.   I really AM a WITCH.

I have always been connected to energy.  Especially the energy of humans. This is what eventually drew me to my life purpose as a healer. I can read energy in the body and can feel sadness, fear, anxiety, joy, anger, love.  This is second nature to me.    I can read and connect to human energy with precision.  As I began my plant spirit medicine course last year, I realized that I was far less practiced in connecting with the energy of plants.

As I child I remember feeling the energy of the different flowers and grass between my toes as I ran barefoot in our yard.  I would wear roses in my hair and always felt connected to their spirit of beauty.  As I grew older and my feet were shoed more often, I began to disconnect from earth energy and the plant spirits.

Over the past year, I sat month after month with a multitude of plants, connecting with their incredible spirits and learning of their deep magic and wisdom.  I laid on the earth, I walked barefoot, I harvested plants, meditated with plants, drank plants, spoke with plants and sat in deep reverence to mother earth.  In this process, I reconnected once again to the magic of the MOTHER…something that had been lost from the surface levels of my life.  Plants that I found to be the most common and easily dismissed (Rose, Lavender, Thyme) came through as my strongest plant allies and I saw them for the true and magical healers they are.

I claim the title of GREEN WITCH because I am deeply dedicated and committed to mother earth.  I pledge to continue to help heal all her children by bringing them back into balance and communication with her.  I will work with her gifts as well as the gifts of the rainbows.   A GREEN WITCH listens, watches, learns, heals and teaches.  I am a GREEN WITCH.
